Dear WesleyNexus Recipient,

Just a quick note to update you on what is happening at WesleyNexus.

First, we had a difficulty with our newsletter sign-up page which did not allow visitors to sign up for
our newsletter or change their profile.  This has been repaired.

We have also posted four book reviews by Maynard Moore, The Constant Fire by Frank Adam, 36
Arguments for the Existence of God by Rebecca Newberger Goldstein, Life:  Natural History of the
First Four Billion Years of Life on Earth by Richard Fortey, and Emergence:  From Chaos to Order by
John Holland.  See
Book Reviews for the links to the reviews.

This month I want to recommend the Huffingtonpost.com, for what is becoming regular, daily
destination for my eyes in the early morning hours.  On June 22, Paul Raushenbush, the Religion
Editor, announced a new thread called
"Religion and Science:  A Contemporary Discussion," which
will be a "a forum dedicated to hosting an intelligent and respectful discussion of one of the most
important and contentious conversations of our time."

I also liked the
article by Alan I. Leshner, CEO of The American Association for the Advancement of
Science, who wrote of the importance of having civil, productive dialogue between these science and
religion.  He argues that it is time to dispel the "myth that scientists reject spirituality, or that science
and religion are inherently incompatible."

Another good
article is by Krista Tippett on whether Einstein was "spiritual."

Finally, I ran across an article by the novelist Marilynne Robinson titled
"Religion, Science and the
Ultimate Nature of Reality."  It was wonderful to get the perspective of a novelist on this topic.

Let me know if you find any that are of particular interest to you.  I can be reached at
WesleyNexus@aol.com.

Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Stay well and God bless,
